Scholarship

Every year, in September the Broward NYPD 10-13 sponsors the “Kevin Moran Memorial Scholarship” essay contest. It is open to all 10-13 member’s children and/or grandchildren who graduated from High School in prior June. Kevin Moran was a Washington DC Police Officer and 10-13 member who donated the first monetary award. After Kevin passed away the Board of Directors voted to make the scholarship and annual event. Ret. Police Officer Francis “Frank” Tooley is the scholarship chairman. The decision to award the scholarship to an applicant or applicants is decided after the Board of Directors reviews all submissions by graduated seniors. To date, the Broward NYPD 10-13 has awarded over $10,000 in scholarship awards. Any member, in good standing, interested in having a family member apply for the scholarship should contact Frank Tooley at the 10-13 office for more information and necessary forms.

In the near future, a link will be available to download the application package.
